One last post before I head out of the office for the day. I am sure that everyone has had that one relative that just doesn’t understand DVD in general. I am also sure that you have had to deal with this question: “Why do we have those stupid black bars on our TV?”. The very thought of that question just makes me cringe. This is an article that I am also going to add to the links section. It’s a classic and one that anyone interested in DVDs should read. It provides a fairly detailed explanation of aspect ratios and the difference they make to our viewing experience.

    I was one of “those” people not too long ago. I’ve grown to love and appreciate the black bars..Very interesting article!
