Transformers coming to DVD and HD-DVD on October 16th

I’ll admit that I never made it to the theater to see Transformers but I really wanted to. I mean, it’s robots destroying robots. How can you go wrong? Who cares if the plot is as thin as my wallet this month. That’s not what people pay to see. They pay to see robots throwing other robots through buildings.

In a way I think I’ll get more out of this movie watching it in my basement on my plasma than at a theater with some 3 year old kicking my seat the entire time.

Oh but back to the actual release info. The HD-DVD release will feature a heads up display with running text commentary. That in and of itself sounds pretty cool. I have never been a huge fan of audio commentaries since I rarely seem to have time to watch a movie twice anymore. Of course, those who dig audio commentaries won’t be disappointed since both the high def and standard DVD feature an audio commentary by Michael Bay as well as two multipart documentaries.

Did I mention it’s robots beating other robots? I don’t know if I made that clear enough. ROBOTS ON ROBOTS.
