Sony launched four new high end Sony Bravia BluRay recorders in Japan today with the ability to burn a 50GB dual layer BluRay disc with addition built in storage ranging from 250GB to 500GB depending on the model selected.

I say high end because they retail for around $1,755 and feature two analog tuners and two digital tuners. They also support Sony Room Link for streaming media around your house or apartment.

While I definitely think this is cool, I wish they would focus on more affordable BluRay players.  It’s clear that this technology is a way off from being affordable given the price tag.  It would be nice if they could match HD-DVD in the price department.  I would definitely be excited about that.
